Yup, eyes/head direction. If you can't see the thief's eyes looking to the right, that's probably an answer. The captcha puzzles are very verbatim: also any frames with the red dude, cause technically the thief isn't looking forward in those either.
It's similar to the Stardew Valley fishing minigame, if that helps! You wanna click the lockpicking button to move the paddle such that the ball stays within the paddle borders, until the chamber "fills up" completely blue. Repeat for all three chambers!
The phonebook gave me a bit of trouble, I expected the letter to be inputted like old button mobile phones, for c you would need to press 1 three times.
It's basically mastermind or wordle -- pick 4 buttons, the light will go blue if it's the right button in the right position, yellow if it's the right button but in the wrong position, and red if that button is not used at all in the combo
